We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Contracts Solicitor to join our Legal & Secretariat team. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.
The Commercial Contracts Solicitor will lead on commercial and contract law, interpret legal documents, and be involved in training on contractual principles, upskilling the team regarding Contracts and Litigation.
Responsibilities include:
* Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts
* Providing legal and strategic advice to the Legal & Secretariat Team and the wider business
* Ensuring all Society contracts comply with applicable laws
* Conducting legal research and staying updated on legislation
* Collaborating with other departments to align contracts with business strategy
* Delivering training on contractual and legal matters
* Mentoring team members and upskilling the team
* Performing additional duties as required
Qualifications and experience required:
* Qualified solicitor with at least 7 years post-qualification experience in commercial contract law
* Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and advising on commercial contracts
* Excellent knowledge of contract and commercial law
* Strong understanding of business and commercial affairs
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
* Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and valid practising certificate
* Experience working in a Top 100 Law Firm at a managerial level is preferred
* Previous mentoring experience is desirable
