Together with industry, we are creating a cleaner, more sustainable energy future. NESO sees geospatial data and Location Intelligence (LI) as business critical. Using geographic analysis and technology, we can improve decision-making, customer understanding, and operational efficiency. We expect rapid growth in this area at NESO in the coming years. Geospatial/LI product function is engaged in delivering of the LI platform, tooling, products (data and technology), standards and services required to meet requirements of the NESO organisation. Key Accountabilities
* Requirements gathering and documentation – functional requirements are captured from the relevant SME’s/stakeholders/users across the NESO organisation and based on the definition of personas along with technical requirements from architecture, engineering/delivery and security. All requirements are documented and organised based on the structures associated with Agile delivery management including the definition of NFR’s, definition of done etc.
* Requirements management – requirements are organised and prioritised based on the product teams detailed understanding of the needs of its identified stakeholders and users enabling the function to build an aligned roadmap for delivery over time.
* Delivery partner management (internal) – key to the progression of delivery is alignment with key functions across the NESO organisation including (but not limited to) architecture, engineering, delivery/service management and security. Each of these functions has unique expectations in terms of how they interact with the underlying requirements requiring the product function to be close to the detail across all requirements and demonstrate a detailed understanding of the outputs of each of these organisational elements.
* Implementation/delivery oversight – as an Agile product function interacting with Agile engineering and delivery organisations, we carry the responsibility to support the delivery structures associated with this defined way of working. Requirements are defined within epics, features and stories and taken through standardised ‘ceremonies’ such as Long-Range Planning (LRP), refinement, estimation and sprint planning. Throughout this journey the product function remains accountable for ‘delivery against commitment’ and the assessment of ‘done’ (aligned to the definition of done).
* Geospatial/LI products design management – the product function ensures that solution designs and user experiences are purposeful, coherent and deliverable. It translates user needs and business outcomes into clear, actionable work items (stories) for implementation by delivery teams.
