Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Cardiac Administrative Officer who has previous booking, referrals and ESR experience to join our team.

You will need to be able to communicate effectively with all staff members and have a sensitive understanding of children and vulnerable adults.

You will be responsible for maintaining the Cardiac Reception to a high standard, greeting patients, answering telephone enquiries, booking all cardiac tests and other administrative duties.

Main duties of the job

1. Being responsible for booking of all Cardiac Investigations appointments
2. Arriving and dealing with patients face to face when visiting the department
3. Answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries
4. Working efficiently independently, as well as part of an admin team and wider Cardiac Investigations team
5. Applying a caring and understanding approach to the needs of the patients and visitors within the department
6. Demonstrating good attention to detail
7. Communicating with staff and patients regarding technical data and to have an understanding/knowledge of medical terminology specific to Cardiac Investigations
8. Planning and booking diagnostic appointments with adherence to diagnostic booking rules
9. Organising and managing own workload
10. Being aware of and work in accordance with Trust and departmental policies and procedures

Form constructive and effective working relationships with patients,
consultants, medical secretaries, bed manager, transport, GP surgeries, ward
staff, porters, rehabilitation nurses, heart failure nurses and arrhythmia
nurses.

Communicate complex information to staff, patients and relatives

Demonstrate a caring and understanding approach to the needs of the
patients and visitors within the department

Please note: This role does not meet the minimum criteria for visa sponsorship under the current UK immigration rules, which set specific salary and skill thresholds. 11. GCSE English Grade C or above
12. GCSE Maths Grade C or above

Knowledge & Ecperience

13. Knowledge/use of appointment booking systems
14. Knowledge or previous use of patient information systems

Desirable criteria

15. Experience of working with Careflow
16. Experience of working with Evolve
17. Knowledge of six week diagnostic targets and booking rules
