The Role – MET Technician
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced MET Technician (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim Technician) to join a busy accident repair workshop.
You will be responsible for the diagnosis, removal, repair, and refitting of mechanical, electrical, and trim components on accident‑damaged vehicles, ensuring all vehicles are returned to safe, roadworthy, and manufacturer‑approved standards.
This role is ideal for someone with strong vehicle mechanical knowledge, electrical diagnostic skills, and bodyshop repair experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Remove and refit mechanical, electrical, and trim vehicle components
* Carry out vehicle diagnostics and system testing
* Repair or replace damaged airbags, suspension components, wiring systems, and interior trim
* Perform vehicle inspections and fault identification
* Ensure all work meets manufacturer repair procedures and safety standards
* Work closely with panel technicians and paint technicians during the repair process
* Maintain accurate job cards, repair documentation, and inspection records
* Deliver high‑quality repairs within agreed bodyshop repair timescales
Candidate Requirements
* Experience working as an MET Technician / Strip & Fit Technician / Vehicle Technician
* Ideally 3+ years experience within an accident repair centre or bodyshop
* Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems and auto‑electrical components
* Excellent attention to detail when dismantling and reassembling vehicles
* Ability to work efficiently within a busy accident repair workshop
* Full UK driving licence
