The Role – MET Technician
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced MET Technician (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim Technician) to join a busy accident repair workshop.
You will be responsible for the diagnosis, removal, repair, and refitting of mechanical, electrical, and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles, ensuring all vehicles are returned to safe, roadworthy, and manufacturer-approved standards.
This role is ideal for someone with strong vehicle mechanical knowledge, electrical diagnostic skills, and bodyshop repair experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Remove and refit mechanical, electrical, and trim vehicle components
* Carry out vehicle diagnostics and system testing
* Repair or replace damaged airbags, suspension components, wiring systems, and interior trim
* Perform vehicle inspections and fault identification
* Ensure all work meets manufacturer repair procedures and safety standards
* Work closely with panel technicians and paint technicians during the repair process
* Maintain accurate job cards, repair documentation, and inspection records
* Deliver high-quality repairs within agreed bodyshop repair timescales
Candidate Requirements
* Experience working as an MET Technician / Strip & Fit Technician / Vehicle Technician
* Ideally 3+ years experience within an accident repair centre or bodyshop
* Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems and auto-electrical components
* Excellent attention to detail when dismantling and reassembling vehicles
* Ability to work efficiently within a busy accident repair workshop
* Full UK driving licence
