The Opportunity
Our client, a well‑established and growing building services consultancy, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors including commercial, high‑rise residential, healthcare, and education via the DfE framework.
You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality electrical designs from concept through to completion, working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver electrical design solutions for building services projects
* Design systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and data/communications
* Produce detailed calculations, specifications, and technical drawings
* Ensure compliance with UK regulations and industry standards.
* Work closely with mechanical engineers, architects, and external stakeholders
* Attend client meetings and contribute to project discussions
* Support project delivery to agreed timelines and budgets
* Undertake site visits and surveys as required
About You
* Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
* Proven experience in electrical design within building services
* Familiar with industry standards and regulations (BS 7671, CIBSE guidance)
* Proficient in software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and electrical design tools (e.g., Amtech, Dialux/Relux)
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to manage workload across multiple projects
Desirable
* Working towards or holding professional accreditation (IEng/CEng)
* Experience working in a consultancy environment
* Knowledge of sustainable design and renewable technologies (e.g., EV charging, solar PV)
* Experience with BIM processes
