About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team in Newcastle. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development within a classroom environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils across a range of abilities and may be required to provide 1:1 support where needed.
Key Responsibilities
Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons aligned with the UK National Curriculum
Provide classroom assistance to promote positive learning experiences
Deliver targeted 1:1 support for pupils when required
Assist in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a safe learning environment
Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members
Essential Requirements
Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
Good understanding of the UK curriculum
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Desirable (but not essential)
Experience supporting pupils with SEND
Experience delivering 1:1 interventions or support
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
