Purpose of the Role

The HSQE Advisor will support the HSQE Manager in delivering Primech Building Services’ Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) objectives in line with relevant legislation, industry best practice, and company policies.

The role will provide competent HSQE guidance across operational contracts and projects, helping ensure safe working practices, high-quality service delivery, and environmental responsibility across all Primech activities. The position plays a key role in promoting a proactive safety culture and supporting the continuous improvement of HSQE performance and management systems across the business.


Key Responsibilities


HSQE Leadership & Operational Support

* Support the HSQE Manager in implementing and maintaining effective HSQE strategies across Primech Building Services’ contracts, sites, and operational activities.
* Provide professional and practical HSQE advice to operational teams, supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors.
* Promote a positive and proactive HSQE culture through visible leadership and regular engagement with site teams.
* Challenge unsafe acts, non-compliance, and poor practices while encouraging positive safety behaviours.
* Maintain a strong site presence across contracts to support operational delivery and reinforce safe working practices.


HSQE Management System Development

* Assist in the development, review, and continuous improvement of Primech’s Integrated Management System.
* Review and provide feedback on operational documentation including risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), safe systems of work, and toolbox talks.
* Support compliance with relevant HSQE legislation and recognised industry standards applicable to building services and facilities management.


Audits, Inspections and Performance Monitoring

* Conduct regular site inspections and audits across operational locations, identifying non-conformances and recommending corrective and preventative actions.
* Monitor and track the completion of corrective actions arising from inspections, audits, or incidents.
* Analyse HSQE performance data, site findings, and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Prepare clear reports and recommendations for review by the HSQE Manager.
* Assist with the investigation of incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, supporting root cause analysis and the implementation of lessons learned.


Training, Competence and Engagement

* Support the delivery of HSQE inductions, toolbox talks, briefings, and awareness campaigns across Primech contracts.
* Assist in identifying competency requirements for operational staff and subcontractors.
* Carry out regular training needs analysis to identify gaps in workforce competence and statutory training compliance.
* Work collaboratively with operational managers to promote HSQE awareness and best practice across sites.
* Provide the HR Manager with clear monthly reports outlining required training bookings to support compliance and workforce development.


Reporting

* Produce accurate and timely HSQE reports, including key performance metrics, incident data, inspection findings, and improvement recommendations for review by the HSQE Manager.

Requirements

* NEBOSH or IOSH certification (or equivalent).
* Demonstrable experience in a health, safety, environmental or quality role, ideally within building services, facilities management, or construction-related sectors.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce clear written reports and deliver engaging safety briefings and training.
* Confident working with operational teams and contractors in a site-based environment.
* High level of IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle, as the role requires travel to various operational sites.
