A well-established and highly respected UK manufacturer specialising in precision injection mould tooling and moulding solutions is seeking an experienced Toolroom Manager to join their growing team.

Position Overview
The company is looking to appoint a hands-on Toolroom Manager to lead a team of 14 highly skilled Toolmakers within a busy, well-equipped toolroom.
This is an ideal opportunity for a senior toolmaker or existing manager who is ready to take ownership of day-to-day operations, drive productivity, support new project work, and uphold the company’s strong commitment to precision, quality, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
8. Lead, manage, and support the daily activities of a team of 12 Toolmakers
9. Plan workloads, allocate tasks, and ensure production deadlines are consistently met
10. Oversee the manufacture, modification, and fitting of high-quality injection mould tools
11. Maintain exceptional standards of accuracy, quality, and toolroom safety
12. Provide hands-on technical guidance, training, and mentorship where required
13. Operate a broad range of manual and CNC machinery to support ongoing production
14. Liaise closely with other departments to coordinate project requirements and schedules
15. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across tooling processes and practices
16. Ensure the toolroom remains organised, efficient, and compliant with safety standards
Tooling Equipment & Capabilities
17. CNC machining centres
18. Wire and spark erosion machinery (EDM)
19. Surface and cylindrical grinders
20. Manual milling machines, lathes, and precision workshop equipment
Required Experience & Skills
21. Strong background in injection mould toolmaking with proven leadership experience
22. In-depth understanding of tooling processes, fitting, and fault-finding
23. Skilled in precision machining using both manual and CNC machinery
24. Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and working to tight tolerances
25. Experience wiring hot runner systems and carrying out tool modifications
26. Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a small team
27. Quality-focused, proactive, and hands-on approach to problem solving
Working Hours
41.5 hours per week
28. Monday–Thursday: 08:00–17:00
29. Friday: 08:00–16:00
Overtime available upon request.
