KS2 Class Teacher – Quainton Church of England School

Quainton Church of England School is seeking a passionate and committed KS2 teacher to join our thriving village school. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a setting where staff wellbeing is prioritised, children’s behaviour is excellent, and the team is supportive, collaborative, and forward-thinking.

Start date: June 1st 2026 (or earlier if available)

Salary: MPS

Hours: Full-time / 4 days a week will be considered

Closing date: Monday 2nd March 2026

About the role

The role is available due to a teacher being offered an incredible opportunity at a new school. We are very proud of our track record in developing teachers with staff moving into headships and deputy headships over the last few years!

The Class Teacher will:

7. teach a class of pupils, and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs;
8. maintain the positive ethos and Christian vision of the school, both inside and outside the classroom;
9. contribute to constructive team-building amongst teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and governors;
10. ensure that the current teacher standards are met.

Duties:

11. implement agreed school policies and guidelines;
12. support initiatives decided by the Headteacher and staff;
13. plan appropriately to meet the needs of all pupils, through adaptation of tasks; to provide children with opportunities to manage their own learning and become independent learners;
14. be able to set clear targets, based on prior attainment, for pupils’ learning;
15. provide a stimulating classroom environment, where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils;
16. keep appropriate and efficient records, integrating formative and summative assessment into weekly and termly planning;
17. report to parents on the development, progress and attainment of pupils;
18. maintain good order and discipline amongst pupils, in accordance with the school's behaviour policy;
19. participate in meetings which relate to the school's management, curriculum, administration or organisation;
20. Take the lead on a whole school subject area;
21. communicate and co-operate with specialists from outside agencies;
22. lead, organise and direct support staff within the classroom;
23. participate in the performance management system for the appraisal of their own performance.

About you

Essential Criteria:

24. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
25. Proven experience teaching in KS2. Evidence of strong classroom practice and pupil progress
26. Secure understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
27. Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
28. Ability to deliver engaging, inclusive lessons.
29. Skilled in using assessment to inform planning and support progress
30. High expectations of behaviour and achievement
31. Calm, positive and resilient.
32. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
33. Commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
34. Passionate about supporting all learners to thrive
35. Commitment to inclusive practice and equal opportunities
36. Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school
