Job Description
The responsibilities of the Director of Property Services include:
* Strategic leadership of all property services, including repairs, maintenance, compliance, and capital works.
* Development and implementation of asset management strategies.
* Oversight of major investment programmes and new building projects.
* Management of compliance and safety programmes.
* Leading digital transformation initiatives to improve service delivery.
* Building and maintaining partnerships with contractors and stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate should have:
* At least 5 years of senior management experience in property services, preferably in social housing.
* A degree in a relevant field (e.g., Building Surveying, Facilities Management).
* Membership of a professional body (RICS, CIH, or CIOB).
* Proven experience managing large-scale repairs and maintenance services.
* Strong financial skills and experience managing budgets.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Success in driving service improvements and cultural change.
* A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle, with the ability to drive to Saffron Walden.
* Availability to participate in a senior management on-call rota.
* Flexibility to attend evening meetings as needed.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.
