Our local authority client, is seeking a skilled Building Control Surveyor to join their team. This is a contract position with a rolling 3-6 month duration. Experience working with local authorities is highly preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of building plans to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and codes
* Provide expert guidance and advice on building control matters to clients and stakeholders
* Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure compliance with building regulations
* Issue and review building control notices and certificates as required
* Maintain accurate records and documentation to support inspection findings and compliance
* Keep up-to-date with changes in building control legislation and industry best practices
* Conduct site visits to oversee construction progress and address any potential issues
* Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and resolving any concerns
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Significant experience in Building Control, preferably with local authority experience
* Class 2b registered building inspector
* Good knowledge of relevant building regulations and codes
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
* Proficient in using relevant software and technology
