NES Fircroft is looking for a Expeditor & Storesperson on behalf of our client, a leading global plant-building and lifecycle partner in the metals industry. This is an initial 9-12 month contract opportunity, with potential for further work, based at the manufacturing facility in Christchurch. Mon-Fri, 37.5hrs per week.
Purpose of the Expediter / Stores:
Primarily responsible for expediting orders from suppliers to fulfil the demand of job kitting and general stock levels, working alongside SCM and Projects. Additional responsibilities include the day-to-day running of stores and Goods Inwards, carrying out parts acceptance, job kitting, booking in stock and maintaining production orders using SAP. We are looking for a confident Team player who will supplement our busy operations team.
Responsibilities and Tasks
SCM expediting to include:
Liaising with suppliers to ensure delivery forecast is understood against project priorities.
Co-ordinating with Projects, SCM team and Production regarding shortages and future planning for stock.Stores/Goods Inwards:
Equipment / component deliveries
Acceptance / Quality inspection of received goods.
Functional testing of specific parts.
Booking in to stock.
Kitting production parts.
Maintaining production orders.
Possible local pick up/delivery of equipment to/from suppliers.Knowledge & Skills:
Essential Experience:
Planning & Organising - demonstrating a structured, organised and methodical way of working, to be able to develop and implement against procurement & project plans.
Communication – being able to work well within a team and independently and authoritatively with suppliers.
Computer skills – i.e. Office based applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and company application (SAP – training will be provided).
Understand and read Engineering drawings, primarily mechanical however some electrical.
Use tools and equipment (Verniers, test boxes etc) to supplement Quality Inspections.
Technical background with knowledge of manufacturing process (machining/fabrication).
Working within a Quality controlled process environment.
UK driving license – it will be expected to visit local UK suppliers to aid with expediting, equipment inspections, return of or pick up of urgent goods (Long wheelbase VW van).Desirable experience:
Knowledge of the Supply Chain processes (Raising Purchase Orders, progress chasing, prioritisation).
Understanding of Quality Control processes including inspection and Non-Conformance reports
SAP system experience
Forklift license.
Knowledge of import/export processes and documentation.
Ideally either Project or Engineering related qualifications (Not essential).
