Job Description:
Manpower is currently seeking an interim Assistant Technical Project Leader to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, known for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple. The role involves working in their fast-paced FMCG environment.
The position is based in Seacroft, Leeds. It is a full-time temporary role for 6 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation is competitive, between £30,800 - £35,000 per annum, pro-rata, depending on experience.
The role offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to business needs.
The Assistant Technical Project Leader will manage formulation, specification, and packaging activities within deodorants innovation projects, supporting their delivery to market. The role ensures global and local formulation and packaging solutions are efficiently delivered into European supply chains.
This position supports innovation project managers on large, medium, and high-risk projects, coordinating formulation work and implementing formulation changes across a brand portfolio. It also supports packaging implementation with the packaging team.
Key Accountabilities
* Support the Manager/Technical Project Leader in project management across multiple projects, deputising when necessary, ensuring good communication with regions/countries.
* Manage innovation projects as a global/regional TPL on small/low risk projects.
* Contribute to technical documentation, gather cross-functional input, identify project risks, and update stakeholders.
* Prepare documentation for laboratory technicians, such as batch sheets and data templates, and check gas sheets if trained.
* Serve as formulation contact for projects, providing information and solving formulation and project issues creatively.
* Ensure packaging compatibility with formulation and customer requirements, meeting regulatory and sustainability standards.
* Manage packaging activities from primary to palletisation, coordinating with internal and external partners.
* Complete code summaries to facilitate ordering and accurate Bill of Materials.
Key Requirements
* FMCG background preferred.
* Graduates or minimum GCSE Math and English, Sciences, or Engineering.
* Experience in science/lab work; formulation development beneficial.
* Project management and claims development experience advantageous.
* Packaging development experience in FMCG is a plus.
