The Role:
Worcestershire Children First (WCF) has adopted the “Supporting Families First” approach to deliver in house multi-disciplinary direct work with our Children in Need in Worcestershire. The aim of Supporting Families First is to enable families to create and sustain positive changes to prevent children from becoming children in need of protection or coming into Local Authority care.
We are keen to engage with committed, passionate and enthusiastic children and family social workers who meet the attached Person Specification to work as one of the three Advanced Social Work Practitioner within the Worcester and Malvern Pod.
Within the role you will be the allocated Advanced Social Work Practitioner leading on plans and intervention alongside dedicated multi-disciplinary workers who are assigned to the support the family. The primary caseload of Supporting Families First is Child in Need with some challenge to care work.
As an Advanced Social Work Practitioner your responsibilities will include the coordination of our multi-disciplinary workers to effectively support our families. You will also hold supervisory responsibility for non-social work qualified staff within your pod and you will also utilise the Worcestershire Webstar to form a family plan that aspires to facilitate sustainable change.
Our service has consistently achieved positive outcomes for families since its initial launch in January 2020 and was specifically referenced in the most recent Ofsted Report from May 2023.
