Job Title: Junior PHP / Laravel Developer
Location: Darlington (Hybrid working)
Salary: Up to £30,000
NRG is thrilled to announce that we have partnered with a highly regarded Health and Fitness industry brand as they seek a talented Software Developer who will play a crucial role in developing a vital business system.. This presents an exciting prospect, given our client's substantial growth in their Software Development team.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
2. Optimise MySQL databases, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
3. Implement data migration tasks to transfer and synchronize data between different systems and databases.
4. Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance the functionality of existing applications.
5. Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
6. Perform unit testing and debugging to identify and resolve software defects in a timely manner.
7. Participate in code reviews to provide feedback on code quality, performance, and adherence to coding standards.
8. Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, troubleshooting issues related to PHP applications and MySQL databases.
Requirements:
9. Experience using Laravel framework (or another modern framework)
10. Professional experience in PHP / Laravel development and MySQL database management.
11. Strong understanding of MySQL database fundamentals, SQL query optimization, and database normalization.
12. Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
13. Working knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
14. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
15. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
16. Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
17. Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
