The Role
The primary purpose is to assist in preparing monthly management accounts for reporting to GroupM and WPP (EMEA). This involves detailed variance analysis, exception reporting, and liaising with Finance Plus on Payables and Receivables. Engagement across various business levels is essential.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential Criteria
* Intermediate/advanced Excel skills (sumIFs, sumIF, Pivot tables, XLOOKUP)
* Organized with keen attention to detail
* Quick learner, adaptable, able to prioritize to meet deadlines
* Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Enthusiastic with a positive attitude
* Ability to work independently and in a team
Desirable Criteria
* Experience with DDS/Media Ocean
* Experience with Cartesis/BFC
* Media industry experience
* Qualified or final-stage ACA/ACCA/CIMA student
Responsibilities
* Month-end and year-end process, variance analysis
* Calculate accruals & prepayments, prepare and post journals (IFRS)
* Assist in monthly Management Accounts reconciliation
* Conduct variance analysis and exception reporting
* Prepare month-end files ensuring IFRS compliance
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Address post month-end queries
* Support SOX and year-end audits
Group / WPP reporting
* Coordinate with EMEA for reporting queries
* Submit monthly commentaries
* Handle new reporting requirements
* Prepare quarterly and year-end packages
Business Partnering
* Engage with operational teams regularly
* Provide analysis and reporting insights
Other and Periodic Tasks
* Ensure compliance with policies and SOX
* Review and improve processes
* Participate in ad hoc projects
* Review payroll during absences
* Liaise with transactional teams
