An excellent special school in Frome is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant.
You may have previously worked as a support worker, in-class support worker, or a Learning Support Advisor. Relevant qualifications or the ability to demonstrate relevant experience are also acceptable. The role involves supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), sensory, speech and language impairments, and behavioural difficulties.
The school has received great feedback from parents and supply staff. The staff team is supportive and welcoming. The position requires a commitment of 5 days a week.
You should be confident in:
* Adapting lesson activities according to pupils' individual needs
* Creating and maintaining a stimulating learning environment for pupils to achieve and thrive
The pay rate is £13.78* per hour, with a 7-hour workday including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The daily pay is approximately £89.66*, with potential increases based on experience. *Including holiday pay.
Essential criteria include:
* Empathy, kindness, and patience
* Right to work in the UK (valid visa)
* Two recent references covering the last 2 years
* Relevant DBS/Police checks or willingness to obtain them
