About Our Client
This role is with a small-sized organisation within the industrial/manufacturing sector. The company is committed to delivering high-quality services, and the Telford-based team is looking for a skilled professional to join their accounting and finance department.
Job Description
The Payroll Officer will;
3. Own and manage the end‑to‑end monthly payroll process, from data collection to final submission and reporting
4. Process monthly payroll
5. Manage and validate overtime and timesheets
6. Monitor and reconcile payroll runs, ensuring accuracy across all entities
7. Administer statutory payroll reporting, pension uploads, and compliance requirements
8. Maintain full responsibility for payroll processes across approximately 230 employees, split across 3 entities
9. Prepare payroll data for monthly financial reporting
10. Support budget collation, to consolidate payroll costs monthly
11. Lead payroll activity for year‑end and interim audits, including
12. Work closely with the HR team to support payroll‑related HR processes
13. Assist with death‑in‑service renewals and payroll‑linked benefits administration
14. Act as a trusted and discreet point of contact for sensitive payroll matters
15. Support the L&D function by working with skills matrices and competency platforms
16. Extract and analyse learning data and reports (e.g. via SAP SuccessFactors)
The Successful Applicant
A successful Payroll Officer should have:
17. Experience in payroll processing within the industrial/manufacturing sector.
18. Proficiency in payroll software SAP SuccessFactors and Microsoft Office applications.
19. A strong understanding of UK payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
20. Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
21. Attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information securely.
22. A collaborative approach and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
