What we are looking for

* Coherent Vision and Strategic Oversight: A Personal Development Lead provides strategic direction and ensures a cohesive approach to personal development. They align with evolving statutory guidance (e.g., DfE and Ofsted frameworks) and the school’s values, promoting a consistent message across all year groups with the support of the Senior Leadership Team.
* Impactful PSHE Curriculum: High-quality PSHE education supports students\' mental health, relationships, physical wellbeing, and understanding of the wider world. The Lead will ensure the curriculum is sequenced and age-appropriate, responsive to safeguarding issues (e.g., consent, online safety, extremism), delivered with CPD and resources, and monitored through student voice, lesson drop-ins, and feedback to ensure it is meaningful and motivational.
* Purposeful Tutor Time: Tutor time is a key opportunity to build relationships, reinforce values, and deliver personal development in a structured way. The lead will ensure tutor programs include character education, metacognition, study and revision skills, weekly themes (e.g., wellbeing, diversity), current affairs and assemblies, coordinated to support daily pastoral care and school culture.
* Broad and Equitable Extra-Curricular: Enrichment activities provide opportunities to explore interests, develop talents, and gain cultural capital. The Lead oversees an inclusive offer that links to Gatsby Benchmarks, supports personal development and career pathways, promotes participation and engagement, and contributes to school values. They will evaluate uptake and outcomes to ensure no group is left behind and incorporate student voice to meet needs.
* Empowering Student Leadership: Student leadership develops voice, agency, and responsibility. The Lead ensures a structured approach (e.g., student council), genuine opportunities to influence school life, and leadership development through training, mentoring, and public speaking. This strengthens school culture, cultural capital, and oracy.

Tove Learning Trust (TLT) is a highly successful multi-academy Trust with primary, secondary and alternative provision schools across the West Midlands, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes.
