Overview
We are looking for an experienced Residential Manager to join us in leading a small, one-bedded therapeutic children’s home and to help establish and open a second home. We are a therapeutic home built on passion, experience, and care, with a trauma‑informed, child‑centred approach.
Responsibilities
* Care: Ensure that the children in our care receive the highest level of support, guidance, and therapy to facilitate their growth and development; work in partnership with young people, their families, other staff, and external agencies to meet needs.
* Staff Development: Recruit, train, and mentor staff; set and review targets for the home’s staff team; have line management responsibilities including induction, supervision, and appraisal.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the Children’s Home complies with relevant laws, regulations, and licensing; contribute to policy development and ensure a Statement of Purpose reflects staff qualifications, experience, and expertise.
* Budget Management: Manage the budget effectively and build/maintain positive relationships with external agencies, families, and stakeholders to support residents.
* Reporting: Provide regular reports to the leadership team on the status and impact of the program; undertake duties as required by the Director.
Qualifications
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent, or willingness to complete within the designated time frame
* Within the last 5 years, at least 2 years in a role relevant to residential care of children
* Experience in a leadership role within a therapeutic children’s home or similar setting
* Strong understanding of child welfare practices and therapeutic interventions
* Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills; excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
* Knowledge of relevant regulations; dedication to the well-being and growth of children and adolescents

About the team and environment
Within the home, we have a strong therapeutic team, including a CBT therapist and psychologist, alongside staff trained in the PACE model. Our practice is trauma‑informed and child‑centred.
