Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Homag CNC Machine Operator to join our dynamic joinery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating CNC machinery and be informed of the latest developments in CNC technology. This role involves interpreting CAD drawings, assembling components, and ensuring the efficient operation of production processes. The CNC Machine Operator will play a crucial role in maintaining high-quality standards having a keen attention to detail, good communication skills and be confident in adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
* Operate CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
* Interpret CAD drawings for accurate machining processes.
* Assemble components and perform quality checks on finished products.
* Utilise hand tools and tooling equipment effectively for various tasks including finishing products to the required standard.
* Manage the day-to-day maintenance of machines to ensure optimal performance.
* Handle materials safely and efficiently within the workshop environment.
* Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and efficiency.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
* Proficient knowledge of CNC programming software. Experience of 'WoodWOP' is desirable.
* Proven experience as a CNC Operator or similar role within a joinery environment (experience working with HOMAG would be advantageous.)
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
* Familiarity with materials handling and warehouse operations is advantageous.
* Proficiency in using hand tools and tooling equipment is essential.
* Basic maths skills are required for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
* Have good time management skills ensuring the machines are run efficiently and deadlines met.
* Good communication skills with colleagues at all levels ensuring that any machine issues are resolved quickly.
