We are looking for a Distribution Centre Operations Manager with hands-on experience at a supervisor or junior manager level. Location & Availability: This role is based at our Distribution Centre in Bulwell, Nottingham. The position requires availability from Monday to Sunday, with a standard workweek of 40 hours. The workday starts at 6:45 AM.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You're the supporter, the operator, and the team player. The Distribution Centre Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimising the processes within our distribution center. To enable the vison, lead a high-performance team to deliver distribution operations, providing world class service to customers across all touch points. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a customer-centric mindset. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and exceptional service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety and Compliance: Role-model and coach your team on safe behaviours; respond to, report, and investigate hazards, near-misses, and incidents. Inspect equipment for safe functionality and request maintenance as needed.

Operational Excellence: Lead the DC's contribution to trade-driven projects and high-volume retail events. Plan and execute commercially and operationally sound solutions to achieve brand outcomes.

Leadership and Team Development: Lead and manage a team to deliver the Group strategy, build a team of engaged brand and product ambassadors, and lead the Cotton On culture. Manage both your and your team's HPAs to align with the Cotton On's frameworks.

Customer Service: Oversee customer service and returns within the DC, ensuring high standards of service and resolution.

Performance and Reporting: Influence across the business to drive performance, deliver on strategy, and provide an exceptional customer experience. Report, communicate, and present functional and DC performance and trend analysis to key stakeholders.

Maintenance Management: Provide responsive and preventative maintenance support to the DC, including equipment servicing, external grounds, automation, waste removal, and site hygiene. Engage key contractors and other external stakeholders to negotiate and procure necessary services.

Competence Building: Build and maintain a sustainable level of competence in the use and maintenance of equipment on site to improve overall site uptime.

THE WINNING SKILLS

* Distribution Centre Management: Experience in distribution centre management, supply chain planning, or a related role, or previous retail management experience.

* Health & Safety Compliance: Experience in DC Health & Safety compliance and handling maintenance management.

* Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.

* Operational Optimisation: Proven track record of successful customer planning and operational optimisation in a distribution environment.

* Leadership and Team Management: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience in coaching and developing staff.

* Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Warehouse Management Service (WMS) software and tools (e.g., WMS 17 system). Microsoft Office skills.

* Problem-Solving Abilities: The ideal candidate should have a knack for problem-solving, with the ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions.

* Communication and Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary to share insights and recommendations with the team. The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members is essential.

* Organisational and Time-Management Skills: The candidate should be able to manage their time efficiently, prioritise tasks, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
