Join our Out of Hours Team, part of the Somerset Care Group, at our Community office in Taunton. As an Out of Hours Team Leader you will be overseeing the team of on‑call advisors to provide support and point of contact for all staff and clients during the on‑call period. Ensure that CQC national minimum standards are met. To communicate effectively with staff, clients and relevant partner agencies thus maintaining a safe, quality‑driven service.
You will need to ensure you have:
* Right to work in the UK (unfortunately we are not able to offer sponsorship).
* Available to work 6.30am‑11pm on a shift pattern basis across Monday to Sunday on a two‑week rolling rota, including bank holidays.
* Available to work alternate weekends. With the flexibility of providing support to the team on the alternate weekend occasionally.
* Previous background in care or customer service.
* Supervisory and staff development experience.

An Out of Hours Shift Leader role involves:
* Leading a team of On‑Call Advisors, providing support, coaching and development and point of contact for all staff and service users during the on‑call period.
* Ensuring as the Team Leader, that you and the Advisors plan and organise changes in the work of the care and support workers in the most effective manner, covering staff A/L and absence, whilst maintaining as much continuity of care for clients as possible.
* Being responsive to clients’ changes in needs and coordinating visits for new referrals.
* Ensuring that CQC regulations and standards are adhered to at all times.
* Ensuring contractual requirements are met and policy and procedure always followed (to include Local Authorities, Health Organisations and Private Clients).
* Having overall responsibility that reporting and recording procedures are implemented and adhered to by all staff, to ensure safe running of services.
* To support planning staff in all bases by making suggestions for improvement to rotas to increase their effectiveness and to ensure all priority level are upheld. Escalate effectively in line with correct policies and procedures.
* Answering the telephone and completing calls to a satisfactory conclusion. Ensuring that all appropriate issues are managed effectively and are reported, recorded and escalated in line with policy and processes.
* Ensuring that clients are serviced by appropriately trained staff with skills relevant to meet their needs, complete supervisions and 1‑2‑1s, Appraisal and ongoing staff training and development.
* Communicating effectively and professionally with staff, clients and relevant partner agencies establishing a good rapport, thus maintaining a quality driven service.
* Ensuring reports, key performance indicators are generated at the required frequency and work with the Management team to drive continuous improvement.
