About Our Client
Our client, a well-established organisation based in North Kent are seeking a Management Accountant to join them on a full time and permanent basis. The successful Management Accountant will be formally qualified, with demonstrable experience in management accounting, consolidation and statutory accounting within a compliance focused environment.This role offers a hybrid working pattern.
Job Description
Management Accountant duties include;
3. Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring clarity, precision, and timely review for the Finance Manager. This includes supporting the accounts with high-quality, balance sheet reconciliations.
4. Provide confident client‑facing support, attending regular finance meetings with the client to discuss operational or process matters.
5. Manage a broad range of advanced technical accounting activities, including generation and construction accruals, and detailed fixed asset register.
6. Maintain financial governance, including oversight of payments and bank instructions, statutory books, loan note registers, sales invoice approvals, and overall integrity of portfolio financial records.
7. Review the payments and bank instructions for approval.
8. Prepare the corporation tax payments calculation and manage payments.
9. Partner with stakeholders, providing high-quality financial information to Finance Managers, resolving queries. promptly, and building trusted relationships both internally and externally.
10. Manage the statutory audit process, liaising with auditors and compiling the statutory audit working papers for submission.
11. Process and update the annual operating budget and forecasts in the accounting system.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Management Accountant should have:
12. A completed formal qualification is required (ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified)
13. Management accounting and statutory accounting experience
14. Previous people management experience is required to be considered
15. Experience in working closely with senior stakeholders
16. Experience working within a compliance focused environment
17. Clearly communicate technically complex financial issues
18. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
19. A highly organised approach with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
20. Will consider a first stepper from practice
