Your new role
Electricians play an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prison is carried out in a safe,pliant and timely manner.The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week Monday - Friday + overtime paid for weekend work.
You will be responsible for:
1. Planned and preventative electrical maintenance.
2. Diagnosing and replacing failed domestic electricalponents.
3. Responding to breakdowns, ensuring all work is carried out under the appropriate Safe System of Work and in a timely manner.
4. Actively fault-finding / problem-solving on domestic electrical systems across the prison.
5. Undertaking electrical installation activities in accordance with the design provided and IET Wiring Regulations.
6. Testing and inspecting electrical installations in accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations.
7. Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services.
8. Other tasks as required by the Site
9. This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
10. Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
What you'll need to succeed
11. Appropriate technical qualifications, City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ level 3 or above
12. BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, specifically 18th Edition*.
13. Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution, and installation and testing.
14. Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at work Regulations.
15. Capable of working at heights.
16. Ability to work alone and use initiative.
17. In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have IT skills, testing and inspection 2391, experience in fire alarm and CCTV systems plus exposure to working environment up to phase 3 400 volts to help you hit the ground running, although we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
