Job Description:
A boutique management consultancy working with senior leaders with urban renewal initiatives and organisational change programs is seeking a highly capable Senior Consultant with demonstrable experience in programme governance, PMO development, and transformation design to lead a key piece of work within a high-profile regulatory preparation and housing transformation programme.
You will be engaged to review, redesign, and implement a robust governance framework that enables clarity, accountability, and transparency across multiple high-priority workstreams. Your role will be pivotal in setting up the tools, processes, and structures needed to ensure effective oversight and alignment with strategic objectives-while keeping the resident experience at the heart of decision-making.
Responsibilities:
* Lead a deep-dive review into existing governance and reporting structures
* Engage senior stakeholders across departments to understand current challenges and opportunities
* Design a revised governance structure, including clearly defined roles and responsibilities and a consistent and streamlined reporting methodology
* Set up a fit-for-purpose PMO function that will support governance delivery, prioritisation, and programme tracking
Requirements:
* 3+ years of Management consulting experience, ideally in public sector
* Proven experience in designing and implementing governance frameworks within complex transformation programmes (ideally public sector or housing)
* Strong PMO leadership background with a strategic mindset
* Skilled in stakeholder engagement, service design, and organisational change
* Ability to rapidly assess, recommend, and implement fit-for-purpose structures and processes
* Comfortable working in high-ambiguity and high-accountability environments
Details:
* Duration: Part-time for 9 weeks (with potential to ramp up to 5 days and/or extend)
* Day rate: Up to £300 PAYE depending on experience
* Location: Hybrid, 2 days per week in central London office and occasional site visits
