Hours: 25 per week
An independent day school for girls and boys aged 3 to 18 in Gloucester, catering for 860 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of a 2-course buffet lunch with a good level of hospitality weekly. This is a term-time only contract working 40.4 weeks, operating Monday to Friday, with some hospitality over weekends during the year. An additional benefit of this location is free on-site parking.
We have a fantastic opportunity for you as General Assistant to join one of our locations in Gloucester.
You should ideally have previous experience working in a fast-paced catering environment.
You will enjoy your work, working with a great team for a company passionate about food and serving wonderful customers.
Key responsibilities:
1. Support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks, and cleaning.
2. Prepare all service areas for the day's business related to that meal service.
3. Prepare, set up, serve, clear, clean, and store away food, beverages, or equipment for special functions.
4. Prepare basic food for sale/service, following hygiene and safety standards.
5. Restock and replenish stocks and consumables during service, anticipating customer needs to ensure excellent service.
6. Manage rubbish and recycling appropriately.
7. Occasionally work evenings and/or weekends for functions and school events.
8. Adhere to company food standards and control wastage.
9. Follow all Food Hygiene, Health & Safety policies, and allergen procedures.
Skills required:
1. Teamwork, good listening skills, ability to work independently, personal presentation, hygiene, and behavior standards, with a food hygiene certificate preferred.
2. Flexibility, reliability, honesty, and a customer-focused attitude.
3. Willingness to learn new skills and take responsibility.
4. Ability to manage moderate lifting, carrying, and pushing.
5. Good verbal and written English skills.
6. Experience in customer service or food preparation is preferred.
