Overview
Assistant Service Manager role at Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative in Ystradgynlais. We are dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community. In this role you will work alongside the Service Manager to help deliver a safe, caring service and make everyday remarkable for the people we support.
What you’ll be doing
In this role you’ll be visible in day-to-day operation of the service, supporting duties in line with the needs of the people we support. You’ll work on a rota which may include sleep-ins. In the absence of the Service Manager, you’ll have responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service, providing leadership and management to the team, monitoring performance, conducting one-to-ones and appraisals, and leading team meetings. You’ll build positive relationships with stakeholders and put our vision and values into action to deliver a first-class service. Your focus will be on achieving the highest levels of independence for the people we support, and on organising and modelling that support in an innovative, person-centred and flexible way to make everyday remarkable.
Qualifications
* Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting
* Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards)
* A strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential
* A working knowledge and understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
* Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required
* A full driving licence – essential and happy to travel for meetings and training
* Access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities, with business insurance for your vehicle (we pay 45p per mile)

Location: Ystradgynlais
Hours: Includes weekends and sleep-ins
Salary: £27,224 per annum, plus sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and travel expenses paid at 45p per mile
Contract: Permanent
