We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Wealstun, a category X Prison located in Wetherby.
Job Summary
HMP Wealstun is a Cat C male 980 capacity, busy with high turnover, and has an on-site dispensary. We are looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to support the Pharmacy Team.
Hours
Shift patterns: 0730-1730 or 0700-1700, 4-day working week, weekend working. 37.5 hours per week.
Salary
Full-time position with an annual salary up to £29,723 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main duties
* Complete general dispensary duties and stock management.
* Work as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service.
* Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings.
* Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing-based clinical areas.
* Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return.
* Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards.
* Medicines handling experience desirable not essential.
* Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good IT skills and IT literacy.
* Ability to work within a busy environment.
* Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.
