Sales Ledger / Finance Assistant
Rotherham | £14.36 - £14.87 per hour | Immediate Start
Adept Resourcing are supporting our client in Rotherham to recruit a Sales Ledger / Finance Assistant to join their busy and fast-paced finance team of four. This is a full-time, office-based role, working Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, with free on-site parking and excellent public transport links.
This is an ongoing temporary position with a strong potential to become permanent. Interviews are taking place this week, with an immediate start available.
The Role
You will be a key part of a supportive team, working closely with senior management across the business. Your responsibilities will include:
Sales Ledger: Producing invoices, matching and processing receipts, issuing monthly customer statements, credit control
Purchase Ledger: Matching, posting and checking transport invoices, resolving queries, processing payment runs
Payroll: Processing weekly payroll, NI/PAYE and pension payments, updating HR systems, holiday and sickness tracking
Finance Admin: Bank reconciliations, petty cash, expense claims, credit card processing, daily banking activity, cash book postings
Purchasing Support: Generating purchase orders, supplier set-up, managing import schedules, monitoring stock levels
Month-End and Year-End Support: Assisting with audits and preparation of accounts
General admin duties including answering phones, ordering stationery, and handling post
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a confident, experienced finance professional who is:
Immediately available and ready to hit the ground running
Comfortable working in a busy environment
Proactive and not afraid to ask questions or seek clarity
Highly skilled in sales ledger, with good working knowledge of purchase ledger and payroll
Calm under pressure, well-organised and a strong team playerExperience with Opera ERP and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting principles is preferred.
