The Global Procurement Manager (Logistics Fulfilment, Global Overland) will develop and own the end-to-end overland strategy. This role is responsible for delivering value across the end-to-end supply chain through cost optimisation, operational efficiency, sustainability and innovation.


Key responsibilities:

1. Develop and own the end-to-end overland category strategy (global road freight), bringing together market intelligence and data insight to understand cost drivers and shape the forward plan.
2. Interrogate spend data, including compiling and analysing a spend cube, to identify and quantify savings opportunities across the portfolio.
3. Continuously benchmark all aspects of the category, including rates, fuel indices, payment terms and contract clauses, identifying market best practice and bringing it back to GSK.
4. Drive implementation of improvement opportunities with stakeholders, converting benchmarking and analysis into real value.
5. Negotiate supplier agreements incorporating gainshare and continuous improvement commitments, and bonus/malus to align supplier performance with GSK outcomes.
6. Govern open-book and closed-book models and the 4PL relationship, validating cost transparency and ensuring value is delivered through the operating model.
7. Manage fuel surcharge and recovery mechanisms, including indexation and formula standardisation, to protect GSK against cost volatility.
8. Track, report and govern delivered savings against target, maintaining a clear and auditable savings pipeline and support in the annual budgeting process.
9. Lead the tender process and ensure compliance with GSK Procurement policies, procedures and risk and regulatory environments.
10. Lead supplier relationship management and evaluate vendor performance regularly, implementing improved plans to meet quality and service standards
11. Partner with key stakeholders across the business and global supply chain, ensuring alignment on critical objectives and smooth implementation of category strategy.
12. Identify and deliver on opportunities to lower CO2 emissions across the network a contribute to the design of the category sustainability roadmap.
13. Support in Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) processes to ensure quality standards are met and risks are mitigated.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

14. Bachelor’s degree in preferred discipline of Business, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field.
15. Proven experience in global procurement/logistics management role with a focus on global transportation, and ideally, related experience in warehousing and customs brokerage
16. Previous experience in supporting category strategies development and execution
17. Knowledge of market drivers affecting category and of the latest tools for executing sourcing strategies required for annual benchmarking, sourcing, and negotiation process
18. Strong data and analytical capability, including the ability to work in spend cube data, or liaise with stakeholders or 3PL/4PL to consolidate data.
19. Negotiations skills necessary for complex negotiations across GSK markets, including open-book and closed-book cost models and gainshare or penalty mechanisms.
20. Experience in managing the delivery of global scale projects and change management.
21. Experience benchmarking commercial terms, including rates, indices and contract clauses, against market best practice.

22. Proactive self-starter who takes ownership and drives outcomes without waiting to be directed.
23. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and deliver across multiple workstreams simultaneously.
24. Commercially curious, with a habit of scanning the market for best practice and bringing it back into the organisation to drive change.
25. Proven ability to work in a matrix environment, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and a collaborative mindset
