Job Description
An HSE Advisor (Regional) will:
3. Develop and implement health and safety protocols for highways projects.
4. Conduct risk assessments and propose measures to manage identified risks.
5. Monitor safety procedures, reporting any issues, and ensuring swift resolution.
6. Provide health and safety training to staff.
7. Liaise with enforcing authorities and other parties with support from internal stakeholders.
8. Assist in incident investigations, including root cause analysis.
9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and best practices.
10. Collaborate with management to create a culture of safety within the workplace.
11. Participate in site inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
12. Ensure all environmental permits and consents are in place for each depot.
13. Prepare comprehensive reports on health and safety activities.
14. Conduct audits and inspections against health, safety, and environmental standards.
The Successful Applicant
A successful HSE Advisor (Regional) should have:
15. At least two years of experience as a health, safety, and environmental advisor.
16. Extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
17. Experience in safety management.
18. Excellent communication and training skills.
19. Strong problem-solving abilities.
20. Ability to work in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire and travel/stay over as required for the role.
21. Formal qualification in health, safety and environmental.
22. Previous experience in the building and construction sector.
Desirable:
23. NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent/above.
24. CMIOSH or working towards it.
