We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) at Moss House in Liverpool.


Job Summary

As Clinical Lead, you will shape high-quality, person‑centred care, mentor staff, drive clinical excellence, and support continuous improvement across the team.


Responsibilities

* Provide strategic clinical leadership in your specialist area, grounded in evidence-based practice.
* Develop and evaluate tailored treatment plans for defined service users, ensuring purposeful interventions.
* Lead delivery of outstanding clinical interventions and maintain high care standards.
* Support service KPI achievement and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Champion the mental and physical well‑being of service users, ensuring proactive health promotion, psychological, rehabilitative, and educational needs are met.
* Coordinate CMHT activities, delivering person‑centred care in accordance with Trust and local policies.
* Engage service users and carers in service development and evaluation.
* Develop care plans in line with the Community Mental Health Framework.
* Serve as key point of contact for users and families, addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.
* Communicate complex information clearly and compassionately to staff, users, and carers.
* Prepare verbal and written reports on complaints, incidents, and investigations.
* Maintain expert knowledge in clinical practice, policy, and staff management.
* Conduct audits and promote best practices based on research evidence.
* Identify and manage clinical and non‑clinical risks, escalating as appropriate.
* Support the Operational Team Manager with budget, staffing, resource allocation, and service dependency.
* Manage staff absence and sickness in line with Trust policies.
* Identify service development opportunities and communicate them to leadership.
* Embed high standards of service delivery, governance, and compliance.
* Provide feedback on Trust policies and represent team perspectives.
* Ensure staff operate within the Community Mental Health Framework processes.
* Coordinate annual personal development plans, training, and skills development.
* Provide accurate feedback following formal meetings related to performance, sickness or absence.
* Exercise sound judgement in interpreting policies and contributing to protocol development.
* Lead investigations into incidents or complaints and report findings.
* Contribute to business plan development and communication.
* Assist with budget management, including Social Care budgets.
* Ensure comprehensive induction for new staff.


Qualifications – Essential

* Professional registration (e.g., Registered Nurse Mental Health, Allied Health Professional, Social Worker).
* Degree level education or equivalent.
* Minimum of 3 years’ clinical practice experience.
* Evidence of post‑graduate professional qualification or PSI certificate/diploma.


Qualifications – Desirable

* Master’s degree.
* Qualification or training in criminal justice mental health.


Knowledge & Experience – Essential

* Demonstrated understanding of Equality and Human Rights.

* Experience of audit & governance frameworks.
* Teaching expertise in applied settings.

* 2–3 years at Band 6 or above.
* Experience of Criminal Justice Liaison.
