Job Summary
We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated and adaptable Pharmacy dispenser/assistant to undertake a pharmacy apprenticeship. The role requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail, joining our friendly, supportive and welcoming pharmacy team. This role is ideal to start a career in pharmacy or for someone who has experience of working in pharmacy to provide medicines to patients in an efficient, timely and safe manner.
You will undertake an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent, which will allow you to progress in a career in pharmacy.
We welcome applications from people working in community pharmacy or other roles involving customers/patients. Previous pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Main duties
* Receiving medicines from suppliers and assisting with inventory control.
* Supplying medicines to all areas of the trust as stock, dispensing medicines to patients and working in our busy reception area.
* Working with robotic technology and automated medicine cabinets.
* Providing support to the Distribution Team and the Pharmacy Storekeeper, receiving deliveries of medicines and topping up ward stock.
* Working in the pharmacy aseptics unit where chemotherapy is prepared for patients.
* Exemplifying excellent interpersonal skills, managing time, flexibility, and team play.
* Participating in weekend, evening and bank holiday rotas.
Qualifications
Essential
* Minimum GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English.
* Knowledge of handling Pharmaceutical Products.
* Knowledge of stock control.
Desirable
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
* Previous user of computerised stock control systems.
* Previous Pharmacy experience.
* Previous warehouse/distribution experience.
