We have an opportunity for you, an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with strong interest in working as one of our therapists within a welcoming and dynamic therapy team at QVH.
Responsibilities
* Assess and treat a joint caseload of burns, plastics (surgical patients such as amputees, skin cancers, eye) and head and neck patients both as inpatients on critical care, high dependency units and three wards, and as outpatients, to maximise patient recovery and function.
* Attend daily handover meetings, weekly in-service training, and regular multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
* Collaborate with the discharge coordinator team to facilitate safe and timely discharges.
* Provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and treatments for patients with complex physical and psychological conditions, and obtain consent to develop and deliver individualized treatment programmes.
* Participate in the therapy team training and audit programme.
* Deliver patient-centered rehabilitation within the multidisciplinary team, maximising patient recovery and function.
* Assess functional issues to enable safe discharge of complex patients.
* Intervene in the Occupational Therapy department, wards, theatres, critical care unit (CCU), and outpatient clinics as required.
Qualifications
* Excellent clinical Occupational Therapy skills.
* Proactive, self-motivated, and passionate about maintaining high standards of care.
* Past experience in one of the main specialisms is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
