Your new role
As Business Systems Manager you will be responsible for the operation, management and evolution of the management information systems our clients used to run their projects and operations. With a team of document controllers reporting to you, they will be responsible for their engagement, training and management as they work on their specific projects. You will also have a strategic element as you look to improve and adapt the existing systems to align fully with our clients' demands. This role, therefore, has both a technical and strategic element, and you will be a pivotal part of our clients' project support function. You will be expected to visit your site teams regularly to develop relationships, conduct training and review system performance whilst supporting you with direct reports. Reporting to the financial head of thepany, you will have the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of our clients' information strategy over the next 5 years as new systems are selected and implemented.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have a significant amount of experience of working within a project-based environment and working with a range of information systems and software to monitor these projects. Ideally, you will have experience of working in the construction industry and enjoy working in such a fast-paced environment. This role will involve travel to sites around the central belt on a weekly basis, so you must be willing to get out and about while also benefiting from our clients' hybrid working policy. You will have the opportunity to set up your own diary but will be expected to be in the office and on site every week with some working from home. You will have experience of typical project software such as viewpoint or similar and have the ability to pick up and learn new software quickly.
