Site Engineer - Teesside
We're seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a £m reinforced concrete package for the Net Zero Teesside Project - one of the UK's most ambitious low-carbon infrastructure developments. The successful candidate will provide essential engineering support for the construction of major concrete structures, including the turbine hall, condenser plant, and carbon capture plant. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a landmark project driving the UK's net-zero transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within a Safe System of Work, raising and addressing any safety, environmental, or quality concerns
- Challenge unsafe acts and complete safety observations where necessary
- Perform setting out activities for complex layouts of reinforced concrete structures and associated earthworks
- Support the Sub Agent / Senior Engineer with materials take-offs, stock checks, and order call-offs
- Draft and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), briefing others as needed
- Liaise with the materials team to track progress and quality of on-site works
- Conduct site inspections as part of a scheduled rota
- Contribute to and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by the Construction Manager
- Participate in programme planning, identifying efficiencies and communicating these to the wider site team
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining a positive and solution-driven attitude
- Train and mentor junior or graduate engineers, supporting their professional development
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer within large-scale civil or reinforced concrete projects
- Valid CSCS card appropriate for the role
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work unsocial hours, including weekends, as required by the project
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Working knowledge of safe working practices and construction quality standards
