Are you a motivated and compassionate clinical leader with a passion for delivering exceptional standards of care?
We’re looking for a dynamic Junior Sister / Charge Nurse to support the daily operations of Farnborough Ward — a 25-bedded unit comprising 25 side rooms within Integrated Medicine. The ward provides comprehensive care and management for a wide range of complex medical conditions, including Diabetes, Endocrine, Gastrointestinal (GI), Respiratory, Renal, and Post-ITU step-down cases.
We seek an individual who can inspire a team of nurses and healthcare assistants, driving forward innovative, patient-centred care.
Requirements:
* Registered Nurse (RN) with NMC registration
* Post-registration experience, along with mentorship preparation module or equivalent
* Natural team leader who can inspire, coach, and uplift
* Forward-thinking attitude with a commitment to excellence
What We Offer:
* Supportive leadership team and structured career progression
* Access to accredited training and development programmes
* Annual leave and pension schemes
* A workplace where innovation and compassion go hand in hand
* Flexible working arrangements
Main duties of the job
* Provide visible, supportive leadership and role modelling on the ward, delivering expert, holistic care of a high standard to both patients and their relatives within King’s College Hospital.
* Assume direct managerial responsibility for the clinical area in the absence of, or as delegated by, the Ward Sister/Matron.
* Support the Ward Manager in clinical governance, audits, and service improvements.
* Champion safe, high-quality care and continuous professional development by acting as a clinical resource within the ward and across the Care Group as necessary.
* Assist in the leadership and development of an identified group of nurses within the ward complement, nurturing a positive culture where staff feel empowered and valued.
* Build strong multidisciplinary relationships to enhance patient outcomes.
* Act as a positive role model to junior staff members, with particular emphasis on ensuring all staff recognise their responsibility to deliver services in a high-quality, courteous, patient-focused manner, while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
