Join NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) in a transformative leadership role, playing a pivotal part in delivering the Future NHS Workforce Solution. This initiative builds upon the success of the Electronic Staff Record (ESR), the HR and payroll system for the NHS, which processes £55 billion annually for NHS staff, representing 7% of the UK's workforce.

If you have experience in digital transformation, strategic leadership in complex environments, and workforce management, this exciting role may be for you. You will lead a team supporting NHS organisations in their workforce transformation, focusing on enabling the NHS workforce to thrive in a modern, digital setting and supporting organizational change.

Please note that the role requires travel across NHS regions as needed.

Main duties of the job

We seek a candidate with deep understanding of workforce systems, service delivery, and optimization within complex organizations. Strong leadership, stakeholder influence, project management, communication, and data analysis skills are essential.

Accountabilities include:

* Optimizing the current workforce solution across NHS organizations
* Conducting annual assessments to identify optimization opportunities aligned with strategic objectives
* Maintaining technical and functional knowledge of ESR to influence stakeholders and realize benefits
* Supporting the development of the Readiness and Implementation team with strategic goals and resources
* Delivering comprehensive support to organizations, overcoming barriers, and securing senior leadership buy-in
* Developing frameworks to assess organizational readiness for future solutions

Job responsibilities

Operational Service Delivery & Optimization

* Leading optimization efforts of the current workforce solution
* Planning and executing annual assessments with user organizations
* Influencing stakeholders to maximize benefits

Establishment and management of the Readiness and Implementation Team

* Supporting team creation, resourcing, and operational frameworks

Data Insight & Reporting

* Ensuring data quality and developing reporting frameworks

Stakeholder Relationship Management

* Building relationships with suppliers, NHS regions, and senior leaders

Developing the capabilities of User Organisations

* Supporting change management assessments and developing supporting materials

Leadership, Governance, and Continuous Improvement

* Providing leadership, establishing governance standards, and fostering continuous improvement

Team Leadership and Line Management

* Leading and developing the implementation team

Ways of working

* Collaborating across teams and understanding NHS policies and strategies

Additional duties

* Performing other duties as required, promoting NHSBSA values, and supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Relevant degree, project management certification (PRINCE2 or equivalent), postgraduate qualification, leadership qualification, and data analytics certification


Personal Qualities, Knowledge, and Skills

* Leadership, project management, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, change management, communication, systems knowledge, adaptability, and understanding of continuous improvement methodologies


Experience

* Leadership in service delivery or change management, system implementation, stakeholder management, data reporting, and NHS or public sector experience
