New England Seafood International (NESI) was established in 1991 and is an importer and processor of premium fresh and frozen sustainable fish and seafood. NESI employs circa 850 people across three sites in the UK and imports a wide range of wild and farmed fish and shellfish from all around the world. We are part of the Sealaska Corporation, an Alaska Native corporation formed in 1971 and which is owned by 26,000 Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian shareholders, who are all bloodline descendants of the first settlers to the Americas.

Production Planner
An opportunity has arisen to join the site Planning Team as a Production Planner to organise production according to demand and capacity. You will be the one to ensure goods are produced on time, in full for distribution in a profitable manner.
An excellent production planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimise them. They are organised and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Advanced communication and computer skills are essential. Previous experience in a Planning role would be desirable.
The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of Production Operations and 100% Service to our customers.
Responsibilities:
* Setup & Coordinate Daily Production Plans for multiple products on multiple lines
* Plan and prioritise Operations to ensure maximum performance & minimum delay
* Determine and ensure resources available to cover immediate and future Production demand
* Monitoring on site raw material availability & scheduling deliveries of raw material to site
* Schedule shift according to immediate Production needs and future demands
* Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
* Monitor and share Production plan attainment and any issues resultant
* Daily review & update of multiple customer forecasts
* Participate & facilitate in various meetings
* Collaborate with Production, Technical, Stock Control and Warehouse staff
* Communicating with customers & account managers
* Be responsible for maximising & communicating Site Service Level
* Escalating high risk issues to Planning Supervisor, Planning Manager & Customer account managers
Skills/Qualities:
* Proven experience as Production Planner (desirable)
* Excellent knowledge of Production Planning Stock Control principles (desirable)
* Excellent IT skills – advanced Excel, including PIVOT, VLOOKUP, SUMIF etc
* Knowledge of Sage computer system would be advantageous
* Strong analytical skills
* Strong problem-solving & decision-making skills
* Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
* Confident when working to deadlines
* Previous experience within FMCG/food industry
* Calm methodical approach
* Flexible approach to covering other team members
Hours: 4 on 4 off 4:00am – 4:00pm
Overtime: Additional hours may be required to support the team
