We are proud to partner a leading independent accountancy practice in central London who are recruiting an ambitious Accounts Semi Senior to join our their team.
This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting across multiple client portfolios.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in the end-to-end accounting cycle, from month-end close to financial analysis and client advisory. With a strong foundation in accounting principles and hands-on experience with leading cloud-based platforms such as Xero and Dext, you will support the delivery of high-quality financial services while contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency.
This position offers a clear career progression path for an ACCA or ACA part-qualified or finalist, aiming to develop into a fully qualified accountant within a supportive and growth-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain accurate financial records for a portfolio of clients using Xero and Dext platforms.
Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciliations, journal entries and accruals.
Prepare and review financial statements, management reports and tax returns in line with UK GAAP and HMRC requirements.
Support clients with financial analysis, cash flow forecasting and budgeting insights to drive informed decision-making.
Liaise with clients, bookkeepers and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate submission of financial documentation.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and compliance across accounting workflows.
Assist in the preparation of VAT returns, PAYE and other statutory filings in accordance with regulatory deadlines.
Contribute to audit readiness and support external audit processes, including documentation and query resolution.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the finance team.
Requirements
ACCA or ACA finalist or part-qualified with a clear pathway to full qualification.
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in accounting or finance in a public practice environment.
Proven experience using Xero for full-cycle accounting, including multi-client management and reporting.
Strong working knowledge of Dext for invoice automation, bank reconciliation and document management.
In-depth understanding of UK GAAP, HMRC regulations and statutory compliance requirements.
Excellent attention to detail, time management and ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
