About PML
Principal Medical Limited (PML) was established in late 2003 as a not-for-profit healthcare federation. Originally created to bring General Practices together in delivering at-scale healthcare solutions for UK National Health Service (NHS) patients, we have since grown to include its own extensive range of nationally-recognised Community Services and wholly-owned and operated General Practices.
Today PML employs more than 230 substantive staff, comprising both clinical and non-clinical experts, all dedicated to delivering the very best care for our patients across Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire. As a General Practice Federation with more than 60 members, we work hard for the benefit of our patient communities, our member practices, and of course, the NHS.
With an ageing, increasingly complex patient population and ever-tightening budgets putting immense pressure on the NHS, PML stands tall as an example of excellence and efficiency. Our healthcare at scale philosophy and careful financial management have helped us not only to remain solvent and successful when so many General Practices and even other Federations are struggling, but to grow and thrive, helping the NHS to deliver more with less each and every year.
With exciting new developments on the horizon and the UK government embracing PMLs community-first approach, now is the perfect time to join us in writing the next exciting chapter of our story.
About Internal Communications & Engagement
Created in 2024, PMLs Internal Communications & Engagement (IC&E) function was created by the then-new Chief Executive Officer to address some key staff engagement challenges within the organisation. Rapid growth had stretched and strained PMLs cultural cohesion, leaving us without the tools and processes required to fully engage a staff of our size and complexity.
IC&E exists, broadly to help PML improve staff engagement, helping to inspire staff in support of PMLs vision for healthcare at scale. It does this, in part, by developing and running engagement activities such as our Staff Awards and Summer Party, giving people fun reasons to want to be a part of PML. It also works to build collective pride in the organisations achievements by collecting and sharing interesting and exciting news both from and to everyone at PML.
We are also the in-house communications experts, building and running all internal communication activities, workflows, and processes, and providing guidance and advice to managers and leaders at every level of the organisation.
With the groundwork laid and our new IC&E Strategy approved, the team is now in need of a Communications Administrator who can help IC&E deliver on its promises.
