Locum Occupational Therapist – Adults Learning Disabilities & Transitions
* We are currently recruiting for a full time locum Occupational Therapist to join a well-established Adult Social Care team, supporting Adults with Learning Disabilities and Transition cases. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced OT looking for a structured, office-based role with autonomy and professional impact.
The Role
* You will manage your own caseload and work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and other agencies to deliver effective, person-centred outcomes for residents.
Key responsibilities include:
* Building and maintaining effective relationships with individuals, families, professionals, and community networks
* Completing and contributing to Care Act assessments using appropriate professional frameworks
* Ensuring support plans are proportionate, effective, and cost-conscious
* Planning, organising, and coordinating resources to ensure work is delivered efficiently
* Participating in case planning, reviews, and project work, providing technical and professional input
* Managing your own workload and working autonomously where appropriate
* Providing feedback on operational issues to support service development and improvement
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification
* HCPC registration
* Practice aligned with RCOT Professional Standards and HCPC Standards of Proficiency
* Proven experience working with Adults with Learning Disabilities, including Transition work
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005
* Confidence in decision-making and the ability to work effectively under pressure
* Experience of multi-agency and partnership working
* A full UK driving licence and regular access to a vehicle
