Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust's Speech & language therapy Dept. is looking to recruit a nd 6 Speech and Language Therapist who is interested in further developing skills in management of Head and Neck cancer patients: IP & OP, complex dysphagia, voice and laryngeal movement disorders.
This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds, and any role-specific criteria.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of our team of experienced Speech & language therapists ENT/OMFS surgeons and MacMillan nurses working in the county’s cancer centre at Brighton and based at Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath for ENT outpatients. There is specialist support and training in Head & Neck and voice disorders with ENT and SLT across specialist clinics; videofluorscopy and FEES, Combined Voice Clinics.
The SLT service is committed to the development of the team and deliver training within and beyond the department.

Job responsibilities
To be a specialist therapist within the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) team providing a comprehensive, specialist clinical service to all patients referred with communication and/or swallowing difficulties by UHS Sussex ENT/OMFS or SLT teams for outpatient therapy at Princess Royal Hospital.
The postholder will provide specialist SLT provision (both inpatient and outpatient) for patients with Head and Neck cancer across all aspects of the patients pathway (surgical and oncological), at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
To be an active member of the SLT service and a specialist resource on swallowing and/or communication disorders in relation to the caseload including liaison with other SLTs and other professionals external to the service and in relation to specialist information, analysis and advice on continuing care.
Tocomply with the standards and priorities laid down by the SLT service and the Trust.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* HCPC
* RCSLT
* Dysphagia Trained level 4
* Degree or recognised equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy
* Member of relevant CEN professional groups
