What Does a Poppy Appeal Organiser Do?
Whether you're an individual, part of a group, club, or business, as a Poppy Appeal Organiser, you’ll be the go-to person for the appeal in your local area. You’ll receive full training and ongoing support from a dedicated Relationship Manager at the Royal British Legion.
As a PAO, you will:
* Inspire and coordinate volunteers in your community to help distribute poppies and raise vital funds.
* Manage poppy stock, ensuring everything is accounted for and funds are banked accurately.
* Lead the local campaign, helping to maximise the reach and impact of the Poppy Appeal.
How Much Time Does It Take?
You’ll typically need to commit an hour or two a week throughout the year, with a busier period between September and November during the main appeal.
Responsibilities
* Inspire and coordinate volunteers in the local area to distribute poppies and raise funds.
* Manage stock and bank funds accurately.
* Lead and coordinate the local Poppy Appeal to maximise reach and impact.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Ability to motivate and coordinate volunteers and work with a diverse community.
* Organisational skills to manage stock and funds.
* Commitment to the Poppy Appeal programme and Royal British Legion values.
