We are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company based in Wellingborough. This is a varied and autonomous role where you'll play a key part in improving production quality, developing and maintaining quality documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Location: Wellingborough
Hours: Monday - Friday (role flexibility available)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Duties:
Develop, write, and maintain quality-related documentation, including SOPs and inspection procedures
Analyse production processes and identify opportunities for quality improvement
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure compliance and consistency
Support internal and external audits, ensuring all quality systems meet required standards
Produce and interpret data reports to drive quality performance improvements
Assist in staff training on quality procedures and best practices
Contribute to continuous improvement projects to enhance process efficiency and product quality
The ideal candidate must:
Have proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally within plastics extrusion or similar sectors
Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Quality Engineering
Have a strong understanding of quality management systems and process control
Possess excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Have experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and documentation management
Be an effective communicator, able to work collaboratively across departments
Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software would be beneficial
