Quantity Surveyor – Tier 1 Fit Out Contractor
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 + Excellent Bonuses
This is a huge opportunity to join a Tier 1 fit out contractor who are absolutely smashing it this year. They deliver outstanding commercial and life science CAT A and B fit out projects, typically valued between £1m and £20m.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in supporting a Senior Commercial Manager on major schemes while also taking ownership of your own projects. Responsibilities:
* Assist the Senior Commercial Manager on large-scale projects while managing the commercial delivery of your own jobs.
* Prepare cost plans, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
* Procure subcontractors and manage payments, ensuring contracts are adhered to.
* Monitor budgets, cash flow, and financial forecasting throughout project lifecycle.
* Provide accurate reporting and commercial advice to project teams and senior management.
* Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.
* Ensure compliance with company procedures and UK construction legislation.
Experience required:
* Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor within UK construction (fit out experience highly desirable).
* Strong knowledge of JCT contracts.
* Experience managing subcontractor accounts and cost reporting.
* Ability to work independently on smaller projects while supporting senior colleagues on larger schemes.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Ambitious and motivated, with a desire to progress in a Tier 1 environment.
