Assistant Manager - Flour Pot Fiveways
The Flour Pot Bakery is a retail and wholesale artisan bakery with 12 stores in Brighton, Hove and Worthing.
We are seeking an experienced cafe Assistant Manager to help run our site up at Fiveways, Brighton. The right candidate will have similar experience in a high quality cafe/ restaurant environment, and have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales.
This role is very hands on as you will be the go to person for all things floor and service. You will need to have a great understanding of what a great customer journey looks like and proven experience of executing a smooth and efficient table and counter service.
At full capacity the cafe can seat up to 45 covers inside and 24 covers outside. Alongside the main cafe seating there is also a private events space on the middle floor, which can be privately hired for brunches, corporate meetings, baby showers, yoga etc.
Opening at 7:30am daily and closing at 5pm, the main demographic of customers are locals from the surrounding neighbourhoods, the majority of which visiting on a very regular basis, not only for coffee, but also seated brunch and purchasing retail (bread, coffee and store cupboard essentials). The cafe has a very community based atmosphere and has developed a great name and reputation since we relaunched into our bigger site in February 2022.
Alongside our counter offering, we also have a fully functioning kitchen with a team that serve up delicious brunch and lunchtime options.
Shift patterns are normally split into two, either being an open 6:30am-3:30pm or close of 9am - 6pm. The role is based on a 45 hour working week.
Qualifications/experience:
* Previous experience in cafe/restaurant management is required - including table service
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
* Exceptional customer service skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a food service environment
* Proven track record of achieving financial targets and managing budgets
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
