Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home Location: Ilford, London Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum (Full-Time) Capacity: Up to 5 children Are you an experienced and passionate leader looking to make a real impact in a small but growing organisation? We are seeking a Registered Manager to lead our brand-new Ofsted-registered children’s home in Ilford, supporting up to 5 young people with emotional and behavioural needs. About the Role: As the Registered Manager, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining a high-quality, nurturing, and safe environment where children can thrive. You'll be responsible for ensuring the home meets and exceeds Ofsted standards, while also focusing on increasing occupancy and building a strong, stable team. Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage and develop a team of residential care staff. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements (Children’s Homes Regulations, Ofsted, etc.). Promote positive outcomes for each child in your care, including education, emotional wellbeing, and independence. Take responsibility for increasing occupancy in line with the home's capacity. Create and maintain effective partnerships with local authorities, professionals, and families. Deliver and continuously improve care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding practices. What We're Looking For: Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a children’s residential care setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory/management role. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – or working towards it. Proven experience with Ofsted inspections, with a track record of achieving ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ outcomes. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. A passion for making a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people. A confident, professional and compassionate approach to working with challenging behaviour and trauma-informed care.
