About the Role
Are you a physiotherapist with a special interest in influencing service delivery within critical care, respiratory and surgical wards?
The inpatient respiratory team are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated physiotherapist with clinical and leadership skills to work across critical care, respiratory, surgical and paediatrics in-patient wards at Victoria Hospital. There is a small commitment to respiratory outpatients.
Key Responsibilities
You must possess a strong depth of knowledge, understanding and management of a wide range of common and complex respiratory and surgical presentations and be capable of jointly leading the provision and training for the weekend and overnight on-call service. You will require knowledge and recent expertise of complex discharge planning in an Acute hospital setting with highly developed MDT communication skills.
There will be an expectation to identify, act and lead on quality improvement, clinical audit, in-service training and evidence based practice. Holding responsibility for a number of Band 5 and Band 4 staff, previous experience of staff supervision is essential. The department is fully committed to the training of the next generation of clinicians and as such you will be actively involved with undergraduate and post graduate education.
Whilst we ask for engagement with weekend working, we support this with a dynamic approach to work patterns. We consider flexible working and support selective home working for non-clinical work.
Our friendly department offers in-service training, regular appraisal and PDP meetings, excellent peer group and management support.
